So. I finally made it to Santorini!

April weather comes with vicious winds, but still doesn’t take away from the incredible beauty of the island.

I’d go back there in a heartbeat, but probably in the summertime, because a hot-weather girl can only take so many gusts of murderous winds ;)

This is a pretty good summary of what Santorini’s all about, I think!

So I just got back from watching The Hunger Games. I can see where all the hype is coming from, I guess; it’s shaping up to be one of those insane hit trilogies, and definitely worth a watch.

It’s really quite unsettling, the idea of pitting children against children for entertainment (yes, apparently Battle Royale is like that too but I don’t know it so don’t get all hipster in ma face) and it kinda makes me wanna check out the books it’s based on.

I felt the same after watching John Carter, especially after finding out that the John Carter of Mars books were apparently THE series that inspired some of the most iconic sci-fi movies of our time. You just get the feeling that the books would be so much more awesome, y’know?

I miss having loads of time to myself, and being able to just dive into books for hours at a time without passing out on the pages after 45 minutes (it’s not because I’m stupid, I swear). I miss… not having the attention span of a hamster too. And I kinda miss caring about anything at all to write something coherent about it. Being an adult isn’t fun sometimes.

PS: I still think whoever came up with this is an idiot.

So I just spent like half the day geeking out on WFP videos (more specifically, the behind-the-scenes ones).

I’ve always loved watching these behind-the-scenes things, especially those half-hour specials on blockbusters I used to watch when I was younger, but those somehow always left me feeling slightly conned because… well, there was a lot of talking about character development and stuff and not so much about production.

But I loved this video of the shoot for Lee Hom’s “Still In Love With You”. And the one documenting pre-production before that. Partly because of all the good-looking people in the video (hurrr) but mostly because I feel so proud of the WFP boys after watching it; seeing them freak out over meeting an “international superstar”, gushing over being able to work with a full-on film crew (“We asked for a wall behind this window, and they made a wall!”), and pulling the whole shoot off in a day anyway and doing an awesome job with post-production after.

Oh, and it totally blew my mind when I watched it and found out that during shooting for music videos, the music is always played slightly faster than the original tempo and THAT’s how they get that dreamy, slightly slow-mo playback when the whole video’s done. It’s a no-brainer, but I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me earlier :S
